What’s it all about?

Sex & Bugs & Rock ‘n Roll brings ecology to music festivals.

We’re a team of enthusiastic researchers who want to share our fascination for the natural world and make science accessible to everyone. We think scientists should be more approachable and we also love music – so where better to have a bit of fun with science than at music festivals?

Festival-goers can discover ecology in a relaxed and entertaining way with our ecology-themed activities. Anyone can drop by our stall to chat, ask questions, or just take a look around and try their hand at a game or two.

To get a good idea of what we’re about, take a look at our YouTube video from Wychwood Festival 2013.

Although planned as a one-off event to celebrate the Centenary of the British Ecological Society, Sex & Bugs & Rock ‘n Roll has been such a huge success that we continue to tour UK music festivals with our ecology-themed stall – complete with a live colony of bumblebees!

We’ve got lots of new busks and activities lined up for 2017, so keep an eye on our blog and watch out for us at a festival near you!
